The Golden Globes are seen as the measure of what will do well or otherwise at the Big One, The Academy Awards, held towards the end of February. Her is a brief run down what won in the movie categories. The Television section has been omitted as it’s not really relevant here.

“SKYFALL” – (SKYFALL) Music by: Adele, Paul Epworth & Lyrics by: Adele, Paul Epworth
So far so good as for my Oscar predictions, with Lincoln (Steven Spielberg) failing to steal the show, but receiving one Globe for Danial Day Lewis’s performance of the doomed President. Anne Hathaway won her’s for Les Miserables (Tom Hooper), but Life Of Pi (Ang Lee) didn’t do as well as I would have thought. Besides Les Miserables, with 3 Golden Globes, there was no clear winner as such, and I suspect that this is a trend which will spill over into the Academy Awards.
Argo (Ben Afleck) was a clear favourite and I was glad to see Adele winning with “Skyfall” and that Django Unchained (Quentin Tarantino) won more than I though that it would.
