STAR WARS SEQUEL TRILOGY: TIME TO HATE THE HATE

In recent years, as in Star Wars since The Force Awakens, we, as in myself, my better half and my teenage stepson have made the trip on opening night to see the latest addition to the galaxy far, far away. We also go with my parents, who I have been with to see every one… Continue reading STAR WARS SEQUEL TRILOGY: TIME TO HATE THE HATE

STAR WARS: PREQUELS Vs SEQUELS…

After watching this video from the rather dubious movie rating site Rotten Tomatoes, a site who's impartiality has been called in to question in recent years, I felt the need to compose a short response... https://youtu.be/FzNZS7-Hsdc "It's a tough one. Whilst would I concur with his choices generally, I also agree that the Prequel's crowd… Continue reading STAR WARS: PREQUELS Vs SEQUELS…

AVATAR 2, 3, 4 & 5 -WHY THE DELAY?

After watching Avatar in 3-D for the first time since theatres in 2009, I began to think about the long delay in the production of the sequels. I remembered how long it took to bring the original to the screen, a decade to be precise, with talk of "developing something new and innovative". It was… Continue reading AVATAR 2, 3, 4 & 5 -WHY THE DELAY?

STAR TREK BEYOND (3D)

From the opening scenes, to the finale, this felt completely different to previous two, proving once and for all, that Abrams did not really understand Trek as much as he liked us to think, even William Shatner's failed Star Trek V (1989), the worst Trek film to date, understood Star Trek, maybe a little too well. Justin Lin on the other hand, seemed to be a ludicrous choice of director, making his name with the later Fast And Furious movies, but in retrospect, what a great choice.

A QUOTE FROM GEORGE LUCAS…

"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or an exercise of power are barbarians." George Lucas speaking against the colourisation of films back in 1988. One year later, the Library of Congress requested an original negative of Star Wars (1977) for preservation but he would refuse to provide… Continue reading A QUOTE FROM GEORGE LUCAS…
